What do you think of it? Is it worth trying if I wasn't a big fan of Aenima or Lateralus?

It feels like a natural progression for their sound. The percussion is definitely a highlight for me. The tracks seem to all be building up to 7empest, an amazing closer. Overall it's a solid album that I'm sure will grow on me more after repeated listens.

it's a very okay album

i love long albums, but this should have been under an hour, it felt fairly repetitive after the first 50 minutes or so

As I said on the other thread, I'm a fan. The group got more compositionally adventurous and, IMO, largely succeeded whole maintaining the Tool sound and vibe.

They managed to grow and still be them. No small feat and one that many artists can't achieve, and many more don't even try.
