I bought Brian Wilson's 'Smile' on its release a few years ago on the back of universally good reviews. I played it once, realized it was crap and proceeded to use it as a frisbee.

Bloody hell we've hit the holy grail of shit here.....superb!
Having looked through these crap albums i think you would have to be
clinically insane to have purchased them.....myself included.
Sitting on top of the leaderboard just now would probably be Mooseboy 101 with Good Burger, yeuch!
Only because he had the balls to post the album cover. Make no mistake, there are worse sounding albums
but this is totally juvenile.
Never mind your street cred or vanity, get your crud posted.

Dark Side of the Moon, easy. There are worse albums, but I don't own them. This is the worst thing I've ever purchased, by very far.

I'd like to former-ly introduce this album... (this was an inside joke to the two other people that listened to this album.)

Don't get me wrong, I love YES. Incredible talent and some fantastic classic albums like Close To The Edge and Fragile. I have them on my chart.
I had purchased most of the Yes albums and in 1991 I picked up the album Union with high hopes and joy for I really liked Big Generator, the album they made in 1987.
What I got wasn't a YES album but instead an overproduced train wreck.

I'm not sure that it's possible to have a definitive 'worst album ever'. I imagine the snobs among us would look at albums by Take That, Westlife et al and say how awful they are. However, pop has a place, mainly to keep little giggly girls from listening to Husker Du and Joanna Newsom until they're old enough.
However, I present to you my Top 3 truly, truly terrible LPs...

...so bad that I took it back to the shop next day and demanded my money back!
...so bad that your sides will split, either with laughter or vomit (although she is a guilty pleasure of mine, this LP takes the joke one step too far)
AND...

...so bad that if I ever sat in someone's front room and they put this pile of drivel on I would promply walk out, set fire to their bin and report them to the authorities for crimes against humanity. For a while all the 'beautiful people' I knew has this record and played it incessantly (including my brother's next-door neighbour. Who's a psychopath). Now they are all addicted to painkillers, incarcerated or don't go out very often, apart from to douse the fire I started in their trashcans.
