About album of the day: The BestEverAlbums.com album of the day is the album appearing most prominently in member charts in the previous 24 hours. If an album, or artist, has previously been selected within a x day period, the next highest album is picked instead (and so on) to ensure a bit of variety. A full history of album of the day can be viewed here.
According to their website, the album was recorded in a private studio in a Japanese forest and was inspired by Shinji Sato's book of poems of the same name. It's been said that the book was deeply personal to him. It seems like the band camped out in those woods too, but the website never clarified this matter. Beautiful, one of a kind album. Apparently, they're making a movie too!
After nearly 10 years of being on BEA, this album (with perhaps the exception of that ace Willian Onyeabor compy) is my favourite community discovery*. Still have to pinch myself every now and again to remind me I have it on vinyl too.
