We're already a week in 2020 and I think we're due a thread. I have no inspiration so I'll just copy what CGD wrote last year:
What album is everybody popping their 2020 cherry with?

The two I have listened to:

Miss Anthropocene by Grimes
A leak, so I'll have to listen to the real version when it drops. And I'm still undecided on this one, it's pretty cool that she tries to be cutting edge and different, but I'm not quite sure I like it that much. So Heavy I Fall Through The Earth is great though.

Faith In Chaos by Unbounded Terror
Decently executed death metal, nothing inventive but they take some standard metal elements and make them their own. And it works. A solid start to a year.
Edit: seems they're an old Spanish band, this is their second album after the first one in 1992. Their sound isn't old at all though.

I started one here on the first day of the new year, but its okay. We can use your chat here if everyone else prefers. This is the message that I got mine started with.

Its no secret here that James Otto is my most favorite singer of those who are still here. Well according to a recent Face Book message from him, 2020 is when his next album will finally be released. I also hope that new albums from Alison Krauss, LeAnn Rimes, and Trace Adkins are released too. Who do y'all have to look forward to?

God bless you and my other favorites who are still here always!!!

Holly

I haven't a clue what albums to look forward to in 2020. Going in completely blind.

Maybe Fiona Apple? It's a fools game to guess when she'll drop a record, but I could see 2020 being her year. Maybe King Krule? Could see him releasing something. RTJ4's bound to drop this summer, can't see it not.

Caribou, Destroyer and Grimes all have records dropping soon, so yay Canada. The Elon Musk thing is still weird.

Moses Sumney has a promising release coming out in February. Makaya McCraven's also back this year covering Scott-Heron's I'm New Here, which should be cool. Still a slightly underappreciated record.

I remember something about Tame Impala releasing something soon. Agnes Obel too.

That's all I got right now. Haven't heard a release from the year yet.

Sorry, didn't see your thread! I don't really care which one we use, as long as there's a place to discuss 2020 releases. That 2019 thread was gold

Mac Millers first posthumous album coming on the 17th. I can already tell I'm gonna be in tears...

First single today is beautiful. His death still hits me every time I hear his voice, so many memories growing up with his music.

Excited for the album. From my understanding it was supposed to be a companion album to Swimming but he didn't quite get to finish it. Jon Brion has been doing the finishing touches Mac didn't get a chance to. Getting the feeling any posthumous releases are gonna be handled with care, so that's great.

I've heard some rumors about nu metal influences. But maybe it was just a meme, who knows Very Happy
