Folk Punk group AJJ (Andrew Jackson Jihad) is releasing a new album on Friday, I'm a huge fan of their Knife Man album so I'm really looking forward to this release

Man I hope this is good...they really took a dive in quality after Knife Man imo

Christmas Island is so good though! Not on par with their previous three albums, but I still like it a lot. The last one was a huge disappointment though, and the early singles for this one haven't done much for me. I will say I'm glad they're moving away from that fuzzy lo-fi sound, if nothing else this album is going to sound a lot better than Bible 2 did.

Pinegrove also have a new album out this Friday, which means it's a banner day for my niche of folky indie bands.

This one is still my fave, but I haven't heard anything after Knife Man. Will be listening to the new one I suppose

I think it could be AJJ's best since Knife Man...but I have a feeling I won't come back to it much regardless.

Mac's posthumous album is absolutely beautiful but not his best (RYM has it so highly rated currently despite the community clearly not caring for his music before his death). Imo it might be Mac's 3rd or 4th best though, just depends on how it grows on me. Definitely not as good as Faces (challenges Acid Rap for the crown of 2010's psychedelic hip-hop) or WMWTSO though.

Music To Be Murdered By by Eminem

Also the next chapter of "collapse of hip-hops most cringey old man" released today as a surprise drop. Kinda fucked that he dropped it on the same day as Mac's posthumous album which will likely prevent any chance of Circles going #1 (Halsey probably would have prevented that anyways though). Apparently he now has a line making fun of the terrorist attack at Ariana Grande's concert...on the day her ex-boyfriends posthumous album drops....cmon dude. When will Eminem just disappear? He's already diluted his legacy so much at this point.

I haven't given a new Eminem album a spin since Recovery came out, but the entire Hitchcock thing and an album cover that looks like something he thought of 15 years ago made me think maaaaaybe this will be somewhere in the vicinity of 'old Em'.

It's not. It's bad. Why can't he pick beats? Confused

There's a track near the end that's stomachable. And Black Thought has an okay verse. That's all I got. At one point a Spotify ad came on and I said 'well, at least this skit is different'...... woops.

Dark Forest by LeatherFrank
In other, non-Eminem related news, this is one solid, albeit short psychedelic album. Pretty heavy at times too, a bit derivative at parts, but the overall sound is cool.

Górecki Symphony No. 3 :Symphony Of So...Kamdzhalov

Another pretty great interpretation of Gorecki's 3rd symphony. It's been a pretty poor month so far, but this is excellent. Lisa Gerrard adds a unique dimension here, which some may dislike, but I love

I'm pumped for Grimes, I'm trying to wait until the official drop rather than listening to the leaks. Now that I know leaks are out there, I'm tempted...

Tame Impala's performance on SNL a few weeks/months ago was incredible, that definitely has me pumped for the new album.

I did jump into Eminem's new album Music to Be Murdered By. Nothing unexpected there, nothing groundbreaking from Slim

I'll have to listen. How do you think it compares to Beth Gibbons & the Polish National Radio Symphony recording from last year?
