Some artists dominate one era, then fall off a cliff. What bands have consistently made great albums over a long period?

The band that made me think of longevity was Killing Joke. If you haven't ever given their later albums a try, especially their self-titled from 2003 (with Dave Grohl) on drums, then give it a shot.

Anyways, their 3 great albums could be.

1980- Killing Joke (or Night Time, or Brighter Than a Thousand Suns)

1994- Pandemonium

2003- Killing Joke (yeah, they have two self-titled albums)

EDIT: Try and give me some creative answers. I'm trying to find some late albums or early albums from bands that go unnoticed. (I already know Bowie, Radiohead, Prince, etc. etc. etc. Flogging a dead horse )

Good one.

I didn't listen to Firepower even though people raved about it. Guess it needs to go on the list!

It's like a cross of British Steel and Painkiller. Totally GREAT mainstream Priest and their best since Painkiller. Have it in the car rn and it takes me back to the mid 80s.

Kanye West has a good shot after this decade. I think he definitely has 00s and 10s classics and isn't done. Won't lie though, I hated Jesus Is King so we'll see.

Bjork with anything from the 90s, Vespertine, and Vulnicura. Bjork might have 2 for each.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor deserves a shout with F#A#, Lift Yr Skinny Fists, Allelujah.

Swans is a super unique case in that they have great albums in the 80s, 90s, and 2010s but not 00s.

Miles Davis is an easy choice for jazz music, as he was in his prime from the 50s to the 70s.

Assuming you rate Discipline, King Crimson deserves a nod.

Tom Waits has a variety of albums you could choose from to get him included.

these are the ones i can think of right now, sorry if any were already mentioned i lost track. i love niche music but for an answer like this i think you're gonna have to get stuck with mostly popular artists. a lot of my favorite obscurities were flashes in the pan. usually your favorite underground band doesn't play for 30 years unfortunately.
