While I think there are better songs off Pure Heroine, it indeed would feel nearly impossible to do an early '10s tournament without "Royals"- although I was perfectly happy never hearing this song again (for the love of JasedGod nobody nominate "Bad Guy" next go-around). But I'm not voting on cultural significance here, Converge has always been a favorite and it's a great tune from maybe their best album, so no hesitation going for the latter
Royals is decent, but there are much better Lorde songs. Also it's almost as overplayed as Get Lucky, but it wouldn't get my vote even if it wasn't. All We Love We Leave Behind is a stunning song, and a highlight of an amazing album with no fillers. Any song from that one would get my vote over a lot of things in this tourney. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart

I still hang out there quite a bit. Still where my favorite neighborhood bars and rock club (The Empty Bottle) is, but I moved to the end of the blue line a couple of years ago (Forest park stop) a couple of years ago to be closer to my kids.
I'm pretty much immune to things being overplayed since I never listen to the radio so Royals still sounds pretty fresh to me. Definitely an incredible song. As are Tennis Courts, 400 Lux, Ribs, and Glory & Gore. Love them all. Just an incredible debut that changed my conceptions of pop music.
But, yeah! More than happy to see Converge get so much love! Great, great band! Love seeing some metal in the tourney!
I'm going to be Gowi-level of dissapointed with BEA if Converge loses this round.
All We Love We Leave Behind is the John Wick of songs. It's about Jacob Bannon's dog dying and his lamenting that he wasn't there enough in the dog's life.
Royals is a song that I never really want to hear again. Not a big fan of Converge, or mathcore in general, but I like this song a lot more than I like Royals. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
