Brilliant prog rock album which I think shades both Close To the Edge and Fragile. Even "The Clap" which seems out of place on first listen I find myself warming too.

Great and mystical album. Makes me think of the wintertime and smokey firewood. 2nd best Yes after close to the edge.

Quintessential prog from arguably the greatest of all prog groups. Might even be their best album were this not the same group that gave us Close To The Edge.

After The Dark Side of the Moon and In the Court of the Crimson King my favorite Prog Rock album of all time. Its a great album with a unique sound. I'm a big Yes fan.

I have never been able to get past these lyrics...I cringe each time I hear it.

I've seen all good people turn their heads each day
So satisfied I'm on my way
I've seen all good people turn their heads each day
So satisfied I'm on my way

Take a straight and stronger course
To the corner of your life
Make the white queen run so fast
She hasn't got time to make you a wife

'Cause it's time, it's time in time with your time
And its news is captured
For the queen to use!

Move me on to any black square
Use me anytime you want
Just remember that the goal
Is for us all to capture all we want (Move me on to any black square)

Don't surround yourself with yourself
Move on back two squares
Send an instant karma to me
Initial it with loving care (Don't surround yourself)

'Cause it's time, it's time in time with your time
And its news is captured
For the queen to use!

Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (Don't surround yourself with yourself)

Don't surround yourself with yourself (Don't surround yourself)
Move on back two squares
Send an instant karma to me (Send an instant karma to me)
Initial it with loving care (Don't surround yourself)

'Cause it's time, it's time in time with your time
And its news is captured
For the queen to use!

Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (All we are saying)
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (Is give peace a chance)
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (All we are saying)
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda (Is give peace a chance

'Cause it's time, it's time in time with your time
And it's news is captured

I've seen all good people turn their heads each day
So satisfied I'm on my way
I've seen all good people turn their heads each day

I’m fine with those lyrics. Even as a kid, I thought that song was top 10-20 of what I heard played on classic rock stations (of the 90s). I also play chess, and I guess there aren’t many songs that reference chess. Even metaphorically.

I always feel that these lyrics and the voice of Anderson are a music instrument too. Mesmerising i will call it. They didnt use the cover art of Roger Dean already with this album, but its one part (the lyrics, the cover art, the vocals and the music) of one musical system. In my youth i was very interested in fantasy paintings of other artists in the style of Roger Dean also.

nb im sorry for my bad english
