I started watching GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) last week. What a trip that show is. (Especially being a teacher and watching it.)
80% comedy 10% Disturbing 10% Poignant.
Has anybody else watched it?

One of the greatest comedy manga/anime to exist by my measure. I haven't gotten around to checking out its successor series yet, but my friend says its quite good.

I've been enjoying it quite a bit. I think I've already breezed through the first dozen or so episodes. Definitely one of the funniest shows I've seen in a long time.

Attack on Titan Season 4 is going so hard! The moral greyness of it all is killing me. The choice to bring Shinsei Kamettechan on for the opening is genius as well.

Shinsei Kamettechan is one of the greatest Japanese bands ever and the way they've played with vocal pitch manipulation is genuinely innovative. That said I fell out of Attack on Titan from the shitty fascist undertones that have dogged this series since the beginning but have become more blatant in the final arc.

I'm just starting Chihayafuru and it's a bit of a slog but I have faith. Morio Asaka's a true anime auteur

Man, I've read some stupid shit in my day, but this is up there.
Who the fuck watches this show and thinks that it makes the military or warfare look "good"?
They're constantly fucking up, getting people killed, and acting on their own selfish impulses. The newest season is so fucked that both sides are essentially going to destroy each other based off their ruler's lies. Nobody looks good in this show.
This kind of stuff is utterly baffling.

Well I've never read polygon, but it's been out there since 2013 that Hajime Isayama is actually a genocide denier so....
Anyway, I just finished Kaiba which I think might be the best Yuasa creation to date. Beautiful stuff
