Lived up to my very high expectations. I had already expected an AOTY contender based off her incredible singles. Based off of two listens, I'm putting it in my top 3 albums this year. _________________ Griselda, by Fashion Rebels

Yeah, I think it's safe to say Little Simz has the hip-hop AOTY. Everything sounds so damn good. _________________ ...and for dessert!

I lost track of time and thought it was out next week.
Gave it a listen earlier today.
Easy hip-hop AOTY so far. Easy. Interludes aside, not a weak track. Standing Ovation is a pillar, hoping people don't sleep on it. I Love You, I Hate You is a strong SOTY contender. Opening track is an absolute tidal wave to ride this record out on. Gold just kept rolling in.
Super impressed with Simz. Sharp, cinematic, lush, epic— she throws every punch at the crowd and deserves all the praise thrown right back. Production switch-ups ride the project along like a rollercoaster. Forget the Kanye comparisons, I'm almost hearing DOOM. Two Worlds Apart? Miss Understood? Speed? I'm catching his influence more than anything else. Kept feeling like the crowd cheers on Rhinestone Cowboy should be sounding off. (Bit of both Kanye and DOOM on Little Q though). There's def a MBDTF-tier-level shot here, and West's influence is about (Simz even namedrops him once or twice), but there's homage to a lot more people here. I'm hearing Vince Staples, Fela Kuti, Kendrick, George Clinton, Lauryn Hill...
Good on her. She's dropped something special here. DOOM aside, I already know this is the best hip-hop record I've ever heard come out of the UK.
Only crit is that 80-90% of the time her vocals are put too high in the mix. Think she's trying to one-up the beats and didn't want to be overshadowed. Don't get me wrong, she's one one, can't blame her, but I wish the mixing across the board was closer to I Love You I Hate You.

Honestly, even the interludes are fire. "The Rapper that Came to Tea" and "Never Make Promises" had solid beats and had me grooving more than some of the other tracks. "Standing Ovation" is great. For me I think "Introvert" was the highlight even after going through and listening a few times. But the other tracks that people keep mentioning are all highlights as well.
Though to be fair, agreed that there isn't a weak track on the album. And I'd content that the interludes are included with the strong tracks.
I listened to this back-to-back with Nine by Sault and We're All Alone in This Together by Dave, both of which were also strong throughout, but not as good as Simz's album. Production on all 3 is incredible, and Nine also shares the distinction of having a fire interlude (well really an introduction but still). _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!

I just listened through Sometimes I Might Be Introvert and I have to agree that this is absolutely AOTY for me. I haven’t been this rattled and impressed by an album since Fetch The Bolt Cutters. The production and arrangements are off the charts and it’s an epic beauty from beginning to end.
My favorites are “I See You,” “Woman,” “Point and Kill” and “How Did You Get Here.” I also especially love the interludes “Gems,” “The Rapper That Came To Tea” and “Never Make Promises,” maybe even more than the songs themselves. Beautiful dramatic interludes that dramatize the album, incredible.
Too much indescribable love for Little Simz’ album. This is a landmark IMO.
