This is a go-to album for me when I am very depressed and low. It's so comforting but discomforting at the same time, beautiful in every way. And yeah, wanna my favorite albums of all time.

Damien Rice is one of the more important artists of my musical formative years, since he is the first of the more "modern" songwriters I listened to, and then I thought - this guy can hold his own compared to the more respected, senior songwriters. He also opened to door to the world of 2000's indie folk scene. So cheers to Damien.

The operatic portion of "Eskimo" was used in Warren Miller's skiing documentary Higher Ground, and it's one of the best uses of licensed music in a movie ever (documentary or otherwise): https://youtu.be/t4IuLxtf6Gc?t=325
