I was reading the list from They Shoot Pictures Don't They on the most critically acclaimed films of the 21st century, and I was wondering what everyone's personal lists would be like.

(Was considering making this one of the regular film polls but then thought we've probably too recently done the 2000s and 2010s decade lists for it to be substantially different)

I could shuffle the two polls and rank them by the numbers, but I'm not sure that's entirely practical considering they had different numbers of submissions.

I've given 5 stars to 17 films from each decade (an equal number I'm just finding out now). Not sure how I'd rank them, but the top 10 would give-or-take comprise of these—

Before Sunrise
Coco
The Grand Budapest Hotel
In The Mood For Love
Inglourious Basterds
La La Land
Moonrise Kingdom
Parasite
Ratatouille
Spirited Away
There Will Be Blood

Which is 10. Don't count.

Part of me completely forgot 2020 is part of a new decade Laughing I'm not sure anything from this year would make the cut, but Soul might slip in the top 40-50 or so.

Right... those should be on my list. Neutral

Never heard of The Bothersome Man. Might as well add it to my watchlist.

Honorable mention to movies that could have been in, but didn't want to include multiple films from the same director (for example Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, Finding Nemo, Memento, Prestige, The Dark Knight, Inception, Blue Jasmine, The Master, A Beautiful Mind, Life of Pi, The Departed, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Mikra Anglia, Psyhi vathia, Roma, 21 Grams, Babel, Biutiful, The Revenant, Cidade de Deus, The Lobster etc.)
Plus, any Star Wars movie, I am a fanboy and didn't want to pick just one.
Still, it was a bit rushed and I'm sure I've forgotten tons of stuff, I might come back with some more.

I'm actually doing a Flickchart currently for every film I have ever given a 10 to. I have given 125 10s to films released between 2000 and now (I know, it's a lot... but that's more than a quarter of my 10s, and that's out of close to 6,000 films), the most recent being Malcolm & Marie. Currently, based on how far down the list I've managed to "rank", this is what I have for a top 30 of the century-to-date (and, yeah, 2000 counts for me):

1: Blade Runner 2049 (All-Time: 2, 2010s: 1)
2: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (AT: 9, 2000s: 1)
3: The Lighthouse (AT: 13, 10s: 2)
4: There Will Be Blood (AT: 14, 00s: 2)
5: Moonlight (AT: 16, 10s: 3)
6: Portrait of a Lady on Fire (AT: 23, 10s: 4)
7: Malcolm & Marie (AT: 24, 2020s: 1)
8: Casino Royale (AT: 27, 00s: 3)
9: In the Mood for Love (AT: 29, 00s: 4)
10: Memento (AT: 39, 00s: 5)
11: Manchester by the Sea (AT: 49, 10s: 5)
12: 12 Years a Slave (AT: 54, 10s: 6)
13: Soul (AT: 55, 20s: 2)
14: Phantom Thread (AT: 59, 10s: 7)
15: Good Time (AT: 61, 10s: 8 )
16: Columbus (AT: 63, 10s: 9)
17: Before Sunset (AT: 65, 00s: 6)
18: Zodiac (AT: 66, 00s: 7)
19: Da 5 Bloods (AT: 68, 20s: 3)
20: Spirited Away (AT: 74, 00s: 8 )
21: Logan (AT: 78, 10s: 10)
22: The Lord of the Rings trilogy (AT: 79-81, 00s: 9-11)
23: Infernal Affairs (AT: 84, 00s: 12)
24: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (AT: 86, 00s: 13)
25: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (AT: 90, 00s: 14)
26: Pain and Glory (AT: 92, 10s: 11)
27: Marriage Story (AT: 93, 10s: 12)
28: Paddington 2 (AT: 95, 10s: 13)
29: Lost in Translation (AT: 98, 00s: 15)
30: Inside Llewyn Davis (AT: 99, 10s: 14)

I feel I should note that I'm only up to about my top 140, and I know there are currently films in the Flickchart that are placed as low as the 350-400 range that are, at worst, in the top 150. So this top 30 is likely to change and many of the films here are likely to move down a few spots. However, I don't believe I am currently missing any of at least my top 40.
