It doesn’t explicitly talk about homeschooling, but as we grew up together as homeschoolers and I talked to him about it earlier, he confirmed that it was indeed based on the oppressive fundamentalist atmosphere around us. And it made me feel seen <3

I was homeschooled and had an amazing time of it. I still pity all my public schooled friends. Everyone I know who was homeschooled loved it and swears by it. _________________ I wanna take Sean Penn

Yeah? My girlfriend and I have talked about the possibility of homeschooling our kids if we have them. She's got a PhD in English literature and I'm getting into law school, we've got a bunch of friends with postgraduate science degrees, figure that together we could probably raise a pretty decently-educated brat.
Did you find that homeschool had any particular effect on your social skills?
I actually don’t know how these festival streams work. There was obviously a lot of stuff I wanted to see at Sundance, but I haven’t heard a peep about them being bought and/or promoted by distributors, which is a shame with theaters seeming to open up again now.

Full festival scheduled for July. Whether or not it happens, who knows . I think they're underestimating the... erm... globalness of the pandemic. I imagine it'll be scaled down to a similar size as Venice last year, not the streaming format Berlin went with last month. Spike Lee's the jury prez.
Official line-up is announced on May 27th according to most French sources (Cannes themselves just have 'late May'). Whatever happens happens, but I think they've taken cancelling the festival again off the table.
Also, def looking forward to Gunda myself. Feels like I've been seeing that b&w picture of a pig for nearly 2 years now I swear it popped up some years ago, but I guess that's just how long 2020 felt.
(and all the best with COVID.... hoping it's one of the lighter instances— know it's affecting everyone crazy different).

Thanks <3 yeah, I think I started symptoms all the way back on the 5th, so I’m hoping that by Thursday the 29th I’ll be completely non-contagious (temporarily) immune and be able to see it in a theater (since I have to be in the city anyway before I move to pick something up from a friend).
(Of course, I’m not sure if that’s how it actually works, so I will probably just pay for a stream on Music Box Direct)
Edgar Wright is dropping Late Night In Soho later this year and I'm hyped. That Ryan Renolds Free Guy Movie that was supposed to come out last year also intrigues me. Demon Slayer movie comes to the states this weekend which is also exciting.
