About album of the day: The BestEverAlbums.com album of the day is the album appearing most prominently in member charts in the previous 24 hours. If an album, or artist, has previously been selected within a x day period, the next highest album is picked instead (and so on) to ensure a bit of variety. A full history of album of the day can be viewed here.
I remember Bono saying around the end of the 90s that U2 were reapplying for the job of best rock band in the world...but there was a stronger case for Wilco filling this position. This is part 2 of an excellent four album run and for me was definitely the album of that summer (along with Tigermilk, which also appeared on cd for the first time). Good times.
I need to revisit this. I've listened to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot lots of times and for the most part enjoy it, but on listening to Wilco's other albums I never really liked them.
I saw Wilco live years ago and they played very few songs from YHF, and quite frankly I enjoyed everything they did. It also seems that other musicians tend to really respect Wilco and love collaborating, so that's gotta be worth something. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
