I hadn't listened to either of these before.
I gotta say, based on genre descriptors, I went into this expecting to really like Wendy Eisenberg and assuming I wouldn't like Cult48 at all. I was so so wrong.
First Cult48: this was such a well-crafted electronic/ambient album. There was always something going on to keep the listener engaged. It was experimental but not overly so to the point of becoming inaccessible. Overall well done, one of my favorite new discoveries of this tournament.
Wendy Eisenberg: there really just wasn't anything appealing to me in this album. Not sure how others are feeling about it, but I just thought everything sounded misplaced. Vocals were off, guitar was frustratingly boring, percussion seemed out of place, and overall this album was just a slog to get through.
Overall I think this matchup was the easiest decision of the play-in round for me. Definitely 2 albums I wouldn't have listened to otherwise, so I applaud the nominators for that!

I'll go against the majority here, but I found Cult 48 to be exceedingly bland and dull sounding, it had its moments (On Diesel Verge) but overall it was too static for my taste.
Auto on the other hand was a pleasant surprise, it gets my vote.

Wendy Time! Love, love love it! Cult48 is also great, but Wendy's my fave fave of the tourney so far. Took three listens for me to GET IT but now she's MINE!
