I can't stop listening to Zach Bryan's 2022 projects. Artist of the year so far, easily.

American Heartbreak by Zach Bryan

Summertime Blues by Zach Bryan

New Carly Rae Jepsen album announced. Oct 21. It'll be interesting if she goes with a more autumn-vibe.

Shame about the title font— the photo by itself is a great cover.

And Julius Eastman's having quite the decade so far. Loraine James is dropping an Eastman-inspired/reimagined record (also) in October.

To Live & Die In Space & Time b...ole Pulice
Meditative ambient and new age jazz. Short too, a real gem. Would recommend to pretty much everyone.

Renaissance by Beyoncé

I'm not sure if it's just that this album is too obviously great or what, but I'm shocked nobody has brought up Beyonce's RENAISSANCE yet. Unless the impossible happens, I'm expecting this to top all of AOTY lists come December. Epic motherfucking record. Rich club anthems with layers upon layers of musical history. And I can't believe this is only Act I of some mysterious three act project.

Also, this really feels like a companion piece to Kendrick's Mr. Morale. They seem to be responses to the same issues, just opposite directions. Kendrick goes deep into the ugly pits of truth to find peace and empowerment, Beyonce commands to the dance floor to lift up.

Well I mean I mentioned it. Not sure about your Kendrick comparison though - this feels far more in the Lizzo ‘self-love’ pocket. But yeah it’s dope. Best thing I’ve heard this year.
