The new little Crow Billiken EP is better than anything of RAP Ferreira.

Glad you liked it Domme. Apparently he plays these songs live sometimes before hip-hop sets and they go over quite well. Talented dude.

Speaking of talented dudes—

Reality by Bill Callahan

This is Callahan's best in years— and it's not like his last few records have been shoddy. Gorgeous album. Innovative, passionate, poetic, minimalistic yet full— and his voice just keeps getting better. It's a very complete record— thought through, well-composed— it's like a... slightly dusty twine-wrapped package— and an absolute joy to hear. A-side is full of highlights. A lot of the unconventional instrumentations suit him perfectly. To have this sort of highlight this far into his career is fantastic. Top 10 of the year for me.

There's a new Brian Eno record, just out today:

Foreverandevernomore by Brian Eno

It's mostly ambient stuff, but he does do some vocals on it. (Not of the "I'll come running to tie your shoes" variety, though.)

There's also this—

Eat The Kiwi Skin by Isatta Sheriff & Koralle

Which is far too short for its own good— the handful of tracks are phenomenal.

Thanks for this rec. Loved it.

If somehow you've at some point in your life had an even passing interest in Julian Cope, I think you should know that this year's England Expectorates is actually very good and his best in years. Long story short: the old man is angry, he's still fun as hell, and he can still write songs and irresistible one-liners.
