About album of the day: The BestEverAlbums.com album of the day is the album appearing most prominently in member charts in the previous 24 hours. If an album has previously been selected within a x day period, the next highest album is picked instead (and so on) to ensure a bit of variety.
I'm obsessed with this album. My firstborn was conceived after the world premiere of Smile at the London Royal Festival Hall back in 2003 and after listening to the full 5 disc release of this, they are now my favourite American band of all time. An absolutely unique band at the peak of their powers, they had already usurped The Beatles in 1966 as the UK's favourite band, so God (only) knows what would have happened if they had actually released this incredible album back in 1967
It is the issue of the year, regardless of when it was conceived. I listen to it everyday. I'm still trying to figure out what's happening in the first title. I'll be dead before I exhaust all the mysteries to it.
Never been really into the beach boys, but this album is pretty nice. it could've been better if some song were as good as in Smile (2004) (exp: On A Holiday).
