- Post subject: Artworks as a piece of art
|
Simple question: If you would put an album cover in a frame and hang it on your wall, which artwork would it be? And would be that one because it's your favorite album, it's the most beautiful one or some other reason?
I would personally use the artwork for The Band's eponymous second album - not that I'm a big fan of the music, but I absolutely love the artwork. They doesn't look like musicians, but American gold miners from the 1800's or something. Combined with brown background, you simply have a very nice and almost ancient picture.

I guess it's a cliche for this site, still I would probably go with In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. Not because I am especially fond of the artwork, because it is the most likely to evoke pleasant memories. Well from album art anyway.

I actually do have a poster of this in my "music room" in my house. It's a combination of me loving the artwork and also absolutely loving the music. It's probably the happiest/most pleasant artwork/music combination that I know of. I literally smile every time I put this cd in, thats how much I love everything about it.

I wouldn't just keep the artwork for Reconstruction Site on my wall, I'd make it my wallpaper.

The cover of "At Filmore East" by the Allman Brothers Band. That, or the cover of "The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter" by the Incredible String Band. It's a heart-warming family photo of the band members and their children.
