I forgot soundtracks was a thing.

This is a crappy effort due to bad memory but I did manage a top 10. I vetoed Stop Making Sense and Blues Brothers as they were not original material. I vetoed Prince as I have not seen the films. Which way was there to go but Vangelis?

1. Blade Runner (Vangelis)
2. Chariots of Fire (Vangelis)
3. Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark (Williams)
4. Raising Arizona (Burwell)
5. The Empire Strikes Back (Williams)
6. Koyanisqaatsi (Glass)
7. Batman (Elfman)
8. Blue Velvet (Badalamenti)
9. This is Spinal Tap (Spinal Tap)
10. Rain Man (Zimmer)
10. Return of the Jedi (Williams)
10. Brazil (Kamen) *

*I almost have no memory of this one but I’m presuming it was at least good Embarassed

for the scores list, do they have to have been ultimately released independently of the films?

Nope.

And it looks like I have some tallying to do after the opening game Razz

Are concert films not allowed? If so that will either make the list more difficult- or potentially easier? Anyways should get the list in the morning, wanted to squeeze in a couple of last films (especially Peaux de Vaches, but can't find a decent stream anywhere and probably wouldn';t do much on the small screen anyhoos), but think it's pretty much settled beyond the concert film quandry (are we getting no Prince on our 80s list Speak to the hand)

Also great list KitchenSink, apparently when you divide 100 by zero you get movie magic ^_^

Concert films are allowed. Think I mentioned they were slightly discouraged, but that's more just so people don't put things like Michael Jackson's Bad Tour (or a Queen concert, etc) as the best film of the 80s. I just thought it was a little odd. Completely understand Stop Making Sense, as it is... a little different than a 'filmed concert'.

It's an awkward line Confused Ultimately, they're allowed. I have a hard time quantifying how much of a 'film' (or documentary) a concert is, but... yeah. They won't be turned away.

Should have my list re-finalized today. Took off Hoosiers despite making space to put it on. This decade has some of the best commercial films I swear to god. I think I'll mostly be happy with my placements today.

Also, I can't find my post about it anywhere, so I must have forgotten, but here's my soundtrack list—

1. Blade Runner
2. Purple Rain
3. Parade
4. Paris, Texas
5. Time of The Gypsies
6. Cinema Paradiso
7. Once Upon A Time In America
8. Koyaanisqatsi
9. My Neighbour Totoro
10. Blue Velvet

@KitchenSink— tallying your list now Smile Thanks for taking the time to submit (there's a couple titles on your list I've never even heard of— bit of digging to do)

Ah, I forgot about Koyaanisqatsi. That is an interesting one. I updated my list from this morning to add it in.
