I don’t normally notice any new music until about April, but there is a new Belle and Sebastian incoming so I guess I will make an exception this year.

The new single from the album is some goofy 80s synthy europop thing. Quite promising overall.

I can't wait for the upcoming release by the new trio Lauren, Amber & Kenna.

Gordon Mote will also have a new release in 2023. That's another one I'm looking forward to.

There will be an album of Eva Cassidy songs with the London Symphony Orchestra added to some of her old recordings released on March 3, 2023. I'm looking forward to this one too. Here's the track "Songbird" from that upcoming release.

That's a bit cryptic, but I assume you're referring to this:

Even Hell Has Its Heroes by Earth

My question is, is that a real guy? His hairline looks unnaturally low to me.

All for the new 2023 thread, but what happened to the 2022 thread? Neutral

I went to go post in it and this seems to have replaced it.

I know, I know— but I'm still catching up. Little Simz entered my top 20 of the year yesterday. Really oddly timed release, but brilliant record. Up there with BIlly Woods for the best bars of the year.

Gave the new (surprise?) Belle & Sebastian a listen this morning. It was nice Smile —nowhere near their peak material, but it's a good record. Bit better than their last few. I know it's a lot to ask of a band, but I wish they were still releasing music at the same quality as their '96-'06 run. There was an energy there that they just don't quite have now. The sound's there, the musicianship, etc, but there's a vibe missing — I can't help but think it boils down to youthfulness. The young rebelliousness is gone, and B&S thrived off of it.
