There was a thread like this for 2023, so I thought I'd start one for 2024. Here's one I'm currently listening to a lot. The artist's name is Tate Emmons and he's only 13 years old, but I think he's very good. The song is called "Temptations" and it's from the album "Means Something To Me". The album came out earlier this month and I enjoy the entire album. It's my favorite album so far this year.

You Know What It's Like by Yoñlu

Good not very but verging on, parts bossa (not the best tracks), part slightly brazilian-ish slacker, he might release a great album some day. Best thing I've heard in 2024 so far, but I haven't heard much.

On the sad side of things, Sleater-Kinney are not what they used to be, I sort of knew it but it is still slightly depressing.

The Vaccines are awful.

There's a new Asteroid No. 4 mini-album:

Tremble by The Asteroid No. 4

I realize these guys are a bit obscure, and it's only 5 tracks, but that doesn't change the fact that any year is inevitably made better by the appearance of new Asteroid No. 4 product.

I've entered 2024 slightly sleepy. Haven't listened to a whole lot just yet. Most intriguing album I've spun from the new year is—

Da Pacem by Mykalle

Canadian post-liturgical electro-choral.

Cool stuff. Reminds me of MBV and Ride BEFORE they got famous.

Sadly, he died by suicide in 2006 at the age of 16. This is archival.

I pray that a new EP from Mason Ramsey is released. His last one was released three months ago and so I don't know when another one will be out there. All that I know is that one whole year was in between his first two EPs. His third one is the newest one and took four years for it to be out, but one thing that held up its release was the pandemic. Another thing was Mason's voice going through its transitioning.

God bless you and him always!!!

I thought Lauren, Amber & Kenna's first album would be out last year but it wasn't. Only a couple of singles were released in 2023. But I'm sure it will be out this year. They've already been working on it for a whole year. So, I look forward to that.

Amber sings lead on this one. Amber is great vocalist, but Lauren is my favorite. I just wish Lauren sang lead on this one. This single was released on the 5th of this month.
