I mentioned this back in September in the thread about which site's album chart was better (BEA's or RYM's), because it's one of those albums that suddenly went viral one day a few years ago and now has an unusually high rating/ranking on both sites, at least for a neo-classical album.

Since then, the BEA overall ranking has actually improved somewhat significantly (from 1,319 to 1,234), whereas the RYM ratings-based overall ranking has gotten a bit worse (from 303 to 333) — the opposite of what I would have expected, though of course I have no idea as what could be driving trends in the Arvo Part ranking subculture. It might have something to do with the fact that Side 2 is sometimes used to console people with late-stage terminal illnesses, but even that's just a theory.

If I had to guess though, I'd say it's because people just really like that incredibly sexy album cover.
