Rock as a genre... does that include indie and metal?

I kinda like having that many categories gives it an epicness! But as I said to Pam earlier if a category doesn't get enough noms then we'll forget it.

I guess I was thinking Foo Fightersish classic rock but what do you think? maybe we could have a separate one for metal though we might not get enough noms) and indie...

I was thinking of adding in User Awards, like Best Ass, Best on-topic poster etc but I thought it would be too much and/or if we ever do do it it should be a separate thing...

There are a lot more songs than their are albums, it seems only fair that both albums AND songs get 25 nominations - not to mention that, obviously, there were more songs than albums released in 2011, so, you know, we should increase the song count for the sake of variety.

Yeah, rock and indie should definitely have separate classes. I'd like to have a metal award separate, but alas, this site may lack the metalheads... Of course, with all these genre classes, we could end up with some nasty genre arguments...
TO SETTLE THOSE ARGUMENTS:
In any of the "genre awards" you can nominate ANY albums you feel like. Because nominations with the highest points end up in the poll, only the albums that we here on BEA have collectively agreed are "x" genre will end up in the "x" category poll as several people would have had to nominate it for that category.[/quote]

...confused on the last point  The original idea I had was that those genre awards were based off someone's overall album list...or do you think we need to have a separate voting for the genres? even still I don't get your last point.
