I loved Beth/Rest! Surprised

(But then again, I love Steve Winwood's 80s stuff and Christopher Cross Embarassed )

Beth/Rest rules. 2011 truly was the Year of the Sax.

WU LYF was really the only album I bothered to listen to this year that didn't give me any sort of joy or pleasure or anything. So I guess that.

These aren't bad albums, but more of the bigger disappointments of the year:

1. Radiohead - King Of Limbs (after all the hype, i found it a snooze-fest and went back to The Bends instead)
2. My Morning Jacket - Circuital (altho better than Evil Urges, i was hoping for a return to form circa It Still Moves)
3. Death Cab For Cutie - Codes & Keys (very bland album)

Eeeeeexactly, I loved Is This It (and every follow up to varying degrees), but I'm shocked by the number of people on this site who have this vapid, soulless, directionless, train wreck in their lists of tops for the year. People must be willing to forgive them because they're the Strokes, cause if this album was by No Name Band #322 I GUARANTEE you no one would have even heard it, let alone had it in their lists.

Well...

1. The Strokes - Angles, I loved the start of the first track on the album, but I didn't like anything else on that album.
2. Tyler, The Creator
3. Jay-Z & Kanye West, A handful of memorable tracks, but so many below decent ones too!

1. Lou Reed and Metallica - Lulu
I like Lou Reed. I like Metallica. But I also like sushi and churros - that doesn't mean they'll go good together.

2. Beyonce - 4
Goooooooooooooooooood I haaaaaaaaaaaaate Beyonce. I hate her so much. I HATE her.
This effort is a bit of a step up for her. But it's still the worst album I listened to all year.
Her music is improving, but her lyrics are still so unbelievable stupid and cringe-worthy.

3. Angles.
God that was boring. "Under the Cover of Darkness" was pretty good, though!

Runner-up: that new "Cage the Elephant" abortion. If I'd listened to the new Limp Bizkit album (which I, like many of you I hope, made very conscious decision NOT to) I'm sure that would be number 1.

strange that Angles gathers so much hate from some members, even if it's the 9# in the BEA top 2011.
well, i guess that all these people didn't liked it already in january 2011 (3 months before it came out) Smile
