Man, I really wanted to like this, with it's awesome sampling and all. But it just sounds way too much like muzak to me.

One the best albums of the 90's, IMO. One of those few albums that sounds like nothing else ever released. "Midnight in a Perfect World" is one of the best songs ever. The highpoint of his career and he'll never make another album as good as this, but Private Press was a worthy follow up and is very underrated.

One of the best '90's albums, but unfortunately for Mr Shadow it was his first album, so anything after is going to have to be impossibly good to better it. Private Press is really good, but i found The Outsider quite disappointing... _________________ "Bunch of opinionated, hipster twats!"

Endtroducing..... is not one of my favorite of the 90s, but Napalm Brain/Scatter Brain is definitely one of my favorite songs of the decade.

This, except for the "not."

I've had more headaches trying to justify including this album in my Top 100 than any other. No matter how many times I listen to it, I can't work out if I truly, truly love it (hence it should be included), or just think it's a work of genius but not as 'listenable' as some of the other LPs I adore.
If we're talking of albums as pieces of art, you can't deny how mesmeric this album is. Fact is I'd still rather listen to his mixes with Cut Chemist (Brainfreeze, Product Placement - both great if you want to find something new to listen to tonight)... I find a great deal of Entroducing as akin to eating through a 5 litre tub of ice cream... so tasty. but after a while you end up struggling to finish it in one sitting. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing
