"Heroes" by David Bowie

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan

and I got the Blue Vinyl pressing of OKNOTOK.
The remaster is incredible, the new tracks are amazing, the B-Sides are a great addition to my collection, and the pressing on the blue vinyl is unbelievable. The pressing is one of the best I've ever heard, so if anyone is concerned with the coloured pressing being one of inferior quality, I wouldn't worry.

Here Comes The Indian by Animal Collective

Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper by Panda Bear

Both digitally but I intend to grab myself the physical copies when I find them. That still counts right?

Regular readers may know that I normally spend my summer Sundays in the sun playing cricket. However, a week off gave me the chance to go up to Portobello Road and Notting Hill to indulge in my second favourite Sunday pursuit. Whilst it's as vibrant as it ever was, there was a tangible sadness in the air with the recent Grenfell Tower tragedy being a stone's throw away - people collecting for the families affected, posters of the missing (now sadly presumed dead) still in shop windows, charity shops asking for donations. Humbling and emotional, but knowing that area of London as I do the community spirit there is so strong and if there's any positive to come out of all this crap it's that everyone there was being extra accommodating and friendly today. So with steel pan coming from under the Westway and the smell of Jerk chicken penetrating my nostrils I parked in Cambridge Gardens, walked from Honest Jon's to Notting Hill Gate tube and picked up:

Doppelgänger by Curve

First UK press from the geezer on the record stall at the Flea Market. Ended up having a long conversation with him about Ride, for no reason whatsoever

Maison Rose by Emmanuelle Parrenin

A BEAutiful purchase - cheers Norm. Picked up the reissue on what can only be described as baby pink vinyl from Honest Jon's

Las Flores Del Sol by Nilamayé

Really great Cumbia LP from last year, again from HJs. Click on the link to sample it - Norm, Gabe: you'll love it

Bagsy Me by The Wannadies

Original UK press from second hand shop at Notting Hill Gate

OK Computer by Radiohead

Wandered into Rough Trade with every intention of buying the standard black version of this, but after seeing the blue one was exactly the same price (£25) I had to indulge. Not normally one for coloured vinyl but seemed like a bargain. Not as blown away as I thought I was going to be by the pressing in all honesty, although it's noticeably better than the standard XL repress I listened to last week. Having said that, with a decent set of open-backed headphones it sounds fantastic. I remember buying the CD the day it came out 20 years ago, and now after watching their Glasto performance it's like I'm falling head-over-heels for them again. Next stop - the In Rainbows boxset...

All vinyl...

Mezcal Head by Swervedriver

A much welcome reissue from the always brilliant Music On Vinyl

The House Of Love (The German Album) by...se Of Love

Classic

Don't Stand Me Down by Dexys Midnight Runners

I already had a great condition sleeve but an awful condition record, thankfully this week that was put right when I picked up a pristine copy in a tatty old sleeve.

Fastest Wide-Eyed Implement by Razorblade Smile

Early 90's noise-pop which includes a lovely cover of McCarthy's Rec Sleeping Beauty

Hypnotised by The Undertones

Terrible cover and not a particularly great album tbh but it does have My Perfect Cousin on it. U.K. Original in near mint condition

Ease Down The Road by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy

Never heard it but couldn't leave it in the charity shop

Green On Red by Green On Red

Reissue in near mint condition
