Saw this lot last night in Nottingham and whilst there picked up their latest album. It’s good...recommended if you like Deerhunter.

Been a bit quiet on the record-buying front of late, although I did pre-order the upcoming Loveless repress last night. Otherwise:

Big Science by Laurie Anderson

US 1st - promo for a couple of quid from my local record emporium

Informer by Lady Ann

Plucked off eBay - fans of Sister Nancy should check it out

Either/Or by Elliott Smith

XO by Elliott Smith

Both from HMV for half price in their sale

A Retrospective (1977-1981) by Vic Goda...ubway Sect

eBay again - been after this for an age, kept getting outbid at the last minute and finally snagged it for the cheapest I'd ever seen it go for...

What's those Elliott smith records sound like? Been tempted by the prices when I was in Hmv but I'm sick of getting lifeless sounding reissues and mainly just stick to new now. Hence theses I picked up
Hitchhiker by Neil Young
Antisocialites by Alvvays

I was really gutted when they got rid of HMV in Canada. Like, yeah, there are independents to go to instead, but I had so many fond memories of there.

I've also been light on record spending as of late... working on a move... don't need to add more weight to the load. Anxious

I was gutted when they got rid of HMV too, even though I was just an occasional visitor from Buffalo to Toronto to buy records three or four times a year. i was even MORE gutted when they got rid of the giant spinning records on Sam the Record Man. That was downright traumatizing for me. I heard that they saved them though and are going to put them up somewhere else
