Had a bit of a vinyl clearout earlier in the week (sold £100 worth on the free-ads, including beaten-up copies of Here Come The Warm Jets, Songs The Lord Taught Us and Dark Side Of The Moon which I'd upgraded, as well as represses of Ramones S/T and Court Of The Crimson King which I'd replaced with near-mint originals) so decided to pop up to Portobello and re-invest. Picked up:

Chelsea Girl by Nico

97/100. Finally found a UK MGM press for a reasonable price

Blue by Joni Mitchell

UK first in textured sleeve - £3 from a market stall under the Westway

Ginnels & Tangible Excitement! by G...xcitement!

Completely forgot about this record that Patman and I nattered on about last year. Found in the Rough Trade bargain bin

Time Spent Away From U by DJ Seinfeld

Also from Rough Trade - possibly my album of the year

Estórias para Voz, Instrumentos Acúst...e Oliveira

Re-Repress of this Brazilian modern classical LP from Honest Jon's. Was going for silly money on Discogs

The Harder They Come by Various Artists

Bargain of the day - found in Notting Hill's Record & Tape Exchange in their reduced bin. Original UK Island - pink rim, laminate gatefold, absolutely immaculate and only a fiver

I dig that Battles record.

Also added these classics to my vinyl collection (as early B-day gifts from family)... BUT... Randy's Records is having a $2 sale soon, so probably gonna check it.

Pinkerton by Weezer

Thriller by Michael Jackson

Sell some records... buy some more records...

Smile by Brian Wilson

98/100. Just need bloody Loveless now for the full set (minus KKB who still won't press any of their stuff on vinyl).

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain by Pavement

Original UK on Big Cat

The Notorious Byrd Brothers by The Byrds

Early 70s US press

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers

1st UK press, picked up from a second hand shop in Henley

Sour Grass by Tiger Trap

99p from eBay

And some ragga...

Oh what to do...this photo was taken this morning at a record shop in Stoke-on-Trent which isn’t too far away. Some albums I’d really like to add to my collection but if I go I just know I’m going to spend far too much cash!!!

Another Sunny Day, The Sea Urchins, East River Pipe, Heavenly, The Orchids...just can’t stop drooling over this photo. That’s Sarah 1 in the middle of the bottom row!!!
