Can’t you combine these all new acquisitions in one post Johnny? Geez...

Anyway, thanks to a recent recommendation from a certain BEAutiful type:

Blow ’Way by Lancelot Layne

Compilation of Caribbean wonderments from Rapso pioneer and all-round Trinidadian legend. Title track comes on a stand-alone 7” which is going straight in my record box In readiness for my next DJ set at a school disco or village fete or wherever.

Fair comment. Just thought that it would end up a huge post as I’ve been to a great record fair today but I get the point. Will bear it in mind next time.

Nae bother. There’s one in Reading tomorrow but I’ve blown my budget on records this month already otherwise I’d be there like a shot. Do you go to many fairs - the Spitalfields Independent Label Market is always worth a visit, and there’s this huge one in Victoria in August but they’re charging a fiver to get in, which to me seems ludicrous.

I go to a fair few. Today’s was a new one in twickenham, not that far from reading, run by a newish record shop called eel pie records. Great day. Been to Victoria a couple of time and spitalfields quite a few times. Went to my 1st one in Europe last month in Switzerland which was a nice change. Will probably do five or six this year if my bank balance can cope.

Been to Eel Pie a couple of times but never picked anything up - nice staff in the shop, mind, but their second hand offerings (which is what I tend to seek out 9 times out of ten whenever I go hunting) I find a bit overpriced. Banquet in Kingston’s my favourite shop in that area for new stuff mind, and I’ve been to the Tolworth fair a couple of times but mainly just to seek out Barry’s reggae selections. Will have to keep an eye out for when that Twickenham fair’s next on though - may bump into you, I’ll keep an eye out for the geezer whose arms are collapsing under the sheer weight of stuff he’s picked up Wink

Small world. Yeh, the guys in eel pie are very nice and banquets always been a decent shop. Didn’t know that there is a fair in tolworth. Thanks for the heads up. Didn’t see an awful lot of reggae at the one today but as you saw, picked up a nice copy of exodus though to replace a copy I lent someone and never saw again. Always a mistake that.
