I saw this on CD for $2 a few months back. Thought about picking it up, but then I remembered the atrocity that was Astral Weeks, and decided not to.
I hear this is a lot more accessible, though.

I don't agree with you about Astral Weeks being an atrocity, but yes Moondance is infinitely more accessible.

Beautiful. And Astral Weeks is no atrocity, it's beautiful too (and slightly better than Moondance if possible).

Reconsider. Moondance is very different to Astral Weeks which, although by no means an atrocity, is not as good in my mind as it's reputation will have you believe. Moondance is the jewel in Van the Man's crown and one of the most beautiful albums ever made. It is also one of the few steps away from the plain simple straight-forward uptempo rock & roll that makes up the majority of the higher positions of my chart.
The album is worth getting at $22 so go back and pick up eleven copies of it.

I've only really heard Moondance off of Moondance...
But Astral Weeks was pretty fucking fantastic, so... maybe? _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.

naples, please stop going to the album page to see what song is highest rated before you proclaim it as "best track", or just say "highest rated track", or stop paying your internet bill. _________________ "I would expect something wrong with the poll if the chart favorite was not the poll winner" - naples 12-8-11
