I haven't heard this album, so I guess I'll give it a listen tomorrow.
Is it one of those 'first listen, instantly awesome' albums? Or does it take some time? |
I loved it IMMEDIATELY and it was the very first hip-hop album I ever owned, so I would say it'll form a pretty instant attachment if it's your thing. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

While I agree that Low End Theory is classic (great early 90s counter to the aggressive tone of gangsta rap), I think I end up playing Midnight Marauders more often, if only to hear Busta Rhymes on "Oh My God". (I nearly started a brawl in basketball, because it got in my head after an opponent missed his shot, and he thought I was mocking him) . I love Busta. Too bad he never had a consistent album that could qualify as great.

The Low End Theory is my favorite hip hop album. It has everything a hip hop album should need, mainly great lyrics and great production. It also proves that hip hop and jazz can make a great combination.
