An okay album. No doubt that Riders On The Storm is the key-track.

Great album. Maybe even better than the already-astounding debut. It around #40 on my chart.

Another reason why 1971 is one of the greatest years in music history.

On a random note, my and my Scout friends would play this album on repeat during summer camp one year. It was awesome.

Good album. Highlights for me are Love Her Madly, LA Woman and of course Riders On The Storm.

Third place for me behind The Doors and Waiting For The Sun.

I'm extremely passionate about The Doors, and I really love all their albums (the ones without Jimmy isn't that horrible, they're just not really The Doors albums). But man, listening to Jim Morrison on this one isn't nice. If you play their discography in chronologically you'll hear that his voice got more and more damaged - comparing his voice to how close he was to death makes this album an uncomfortable listen.

About 2:35 you'll hear Jim Morrison talking about electronic music in the future.

They probably think that he's da new shit - innovation and artistic intergrity everywhere!

No, I'm asking the same question.

I must say, that is certainly an interesting take on Morrison's voice. Personally, just like with Elvis, I think Jim's voice actually got better. Possibly due 2 weight gain.

Having said that, IMO Morrison gets 2 much credit for the Doors greatness that many people feel they had. It would be hard for me 2 think of a band that had more underrated musicians than the Doors. Seems 2 me that Morrison was a kind of, Can't live with, can't live without, type of proposition within the Doors.

As far as L.A. Woman goes, well, IT'S A FUCKING AWESOME ALBUM. For fucks sake, every song on it is a great one. I am proud 2 say that I have L.A. Woman at #36 on my chart Very Happy

By no means do I consider myself an expert on vocal abilities by any stretch Laughing

But I do know 2 things about the vocals on this album.

(1) They are 1,000 times better than mine Anxious (So I guess Mind Movie won't be having me do any vocal work for him any time soon)

(2) What can I say, I like them and I can't picture some typical little pussy prick singing lyrics like the ones on L.A. Woman.
