|
Despite being a nation with a fairly small population, Sweden has managed to put itself on the world map with its many musical talents - Sweden is one of the biggest exporters of music in the world!
There is something for everybody. From The Hives, The Cardigans, Moneybrother, Soundtrack of Our Lives, Mando Diao, ABBA, Ace of Base, Roxette, to Europe, Nenneh Cherry, Peter, Bjorn and John, Kent, Lykke Li, Robyn, José González and so on.
The list is really never ending.
So... I was wondering
If you could only single out three which do you think are the best swedish exports as far as music is concerned?

Stina Nordenstam is my favorite artist from Sweden. Her LP And She Closed Her Eyes is a marvel. I also like José Gonzalez, Roll The Dice and Sahara Hotnights. I believe Neneh Cherry is a Swede too? She has her moments. Nicolai Dunger's not bad.

A fellow stina-fan
Not an easy one to find
I too would place Stina Nordenstam on my #1 spot
Probably as favourite female artist as a whole (not just swedish)

Guys, you all fail at life.
You forgot to bring up the two best bands in Sweden's history.
Thumbnail. Click to enlarge.
And the second best, Machinae Supremacy (they also are the greatest power metal band in the world; slightly better than Kamelot, though they're great too )

You could download both of these bands' debut albums for free legally at http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/49216 and http://static.machinaesupremacy.com/musicfiles/dxm.zip, respectively.

International Harvester and Tages are my two favorites. Dungen are also quite good.

My two favorite Swedish artists would be Cornelis Vreeswijk and Peps Persson. Both of them sing in Swedish though. Other good ones include Lars Demian, Lars Winnerbäck, Timbuktu, Bo Kaspers Orkester, Wilmer X and Wille Crafoord.
