IMPORTANT

Happy new year everyone. For the new quotes, everyone pick his or her favorite quotes (The more the merrier, although Albummaster may eliminate some) that you have posted on here, seen since you posted, or just discovered. Remember they must be less than 3 lines (4 if the lines are short). Then post them in one reply and i'll tell albummaster to add them to the site.

Thanks,
Johnny

Thanks for the great suggestions and contributions. Shortlist of twenty as follows. I suggest each voter picks their favourite quotes from the shortlist and the ten with the most votes by the end of the month will be added to the site):

  • Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs (Bob Marley & The Wailers)
  • I am the ressurection and I am the light (The Stone Roses)
  • The news today will be the movies for tomorrow (Love)
  • Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light (The Police)
  • The elephants are kindly, but they're dumb (Simon & Garfunkel)
  • Don't know about you, but I am un chien Andalusia (The Pixies)
  • Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind (The Doors)
  • Sing ye brothers and end this miserable thing (Captain Beefheart)
  • If you want she brings you water, If you don't then you will burn (Love)
  • Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all (Neutral Milk Hotel)
  • I was lost, now I'm found, I believe in you, I've got no bounds (Primal Scream)
  • It's hard to hold the hand of anyone, Who is reaching for the sky just to surrender (Leonard Cohen)
  • Cos killers in America, Work seven days a week (The Clash)
  • But don't you think that I know that walking on the water won't make me a miracle man? (Elvis Costello)
  • Realms of bliss, realms of light, Some are born to sweet delight (The Doors)
  • The answer my friend, is blowin' in the wind, The answer is blowin' in the wind (Bob Dylan)
  • Oh you pretty things, don't you know you're driving your Mamas and Papas insane (David Bowie)
  • O, are they merely crying, father? Yes, true weeping is yet to come (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds)
  • When I'm rushing on my run, And I feel just like Jesus' son (The Velvet Underground)
  • It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday, And the manager gives me a smile (Billy Joel)

Notes about the above:
The lyrics shown on this site are just short quips rather than whole verses. Contributions have been edited where possible to fall beneath 70 characters (to fit in the site banner and be quick/easy to read.)

Also, the shortlisted lyrics are not perhaps the most creative/artistic. Please don't flame me if I've deleted *your* submission, it's not a personal thing, I'm just picking out the ones that are fairly short and recognisable to the vast majority of visitors (mainly coming from the higher ranked artists/albums whilst also being careful not to include too many quotes from the same artists.)

If the above is popular, we'll do the same again next month.... noticed no Van Morrison...
