Very, very good. Great, even. Better than Dark Energy, which I also really liked, even if I was slightly wary of the fact that she was and is footwork's accessible darling of the indie press (though the reasoning behind this is plain to see). Obviously loads of cool rhythmic stuff going on, but I also like the way she's repurposed all these chintzy New Age sounds and turned them into something soulful and poignant. A couple of the more abrasive numbers towards the back end of the record were kind of jarring, and disturbed the vibe a little bit, but they were still enjoyable and interesting. Probably the best electronic album I've heard this year (although admittedly my listening has been largely rap-centric in 2017).
