With this album, Dylan single handedly elevated what was essentially lightweight pop music to an altogether higher art form. The album is monumental in scope and ambition that simply left the Beatles reeling in its wake. This should be in everybody's top 100 list.

Don't necessarily agree with the whole post, but the last sentence and the first part of the second sentence, I strongly agree with.

Agreed. The Beatles made good work but until Abbey Road they couldn't top this.

Ballad Of A Thin Man is easily his best song and prehaps the best ever, and while this album is more or less perfect it really doesn't compare to Blonde On Blonde

Yep. "Ballad of a Thin Man." That's an all-time favorite of mine. A good, solid, well-crafted song.
A lot of Dylan songs have been very successfully covered by other bands. Is there a good cover version of this one out there somewhere? _________________ Speakers of the House DJ

Ballad Of A Thin Man, while I like it, annoys me just a bit. I don't get why he''s berating the poor guy, the place he's in seems rather fucked up.

..........................NOBODY ever topped this. Let alone the Beatles. Though they came pretty close with the White Album.
