- Post subject: Album Productions / Recordings that'd make Great Movies
|
From what I've read from the great history of popular music, some of the greatest albums ever made were emotionally difficult on its artists, producers and engineers. Part of me, however, wishes to see that dramatized on screen.
Here is a list (with reasons) why the following specific album recordings / productions would be great to seen through the projector.
3 Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols
Trying to make an album where the entire country, the entire ruling class and the entire monarchy is against you is a feat worth recreating for film. (Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Johnny Rotten.)
2 Abbey Road
The greatest music band of all time, falling apart. What I would give to be a fly on the wall. (Diego Luna as Paul McCartney.)
1 Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Not only a brilliant pop record, but probably the most sexually divisive record ever made. You try writing a hateful song about an ex lover, and then recording that hateful song WITH your ex lover! (Scarlett Johanson as Stevie Nicks.)
Thoughts????

I'm not really sure what you are asking here. A movie of the making of the album or turning the album into a movie with the songs as the story line, like quadrophenia? _________________ "The future is unwritten."

He means a movie about the making of the album. I would love to see the making of TMR, but only if Beefheart himself could oversee the production to make sure everything was accurate.

They probably do a Joy Division style film on the Manic Street Preachers in the future.

..Nope. Sorry, but it's a little late for that
Oh well. If you're talking about a biopic sorta thing, I'm pumped for the one on Kurt Cobain, but that's just me.
It'd also be cool to see one about John Lennon's life in general.

They released a film about John Lennon just a while ago. Nowhere Boy it was called.

Dark Side of the Moon and OK Computer would both make interesting movies, albeit art house types. The Soft Bulletin is another one that would make a killer soundtrack.
