Maybe you should just change the exiting names to have new numbers...but that's not creative it it?

Naming it after musicians is clever...but if you're really going to do that you should use universally recognizable artists like miles davis, the beatles, velvet underground, the clash, dylan, etc.

you could use the names of beatles albums and go more or less chronologically:

rubber soul
revolver
sgt peppers
abbey road

mmmm, not a bad idea but not everyone will know about that sequence and not everyone likes the beatles. I think needs to be something that everyone can 'get' and be more band agnostic. Think

I think that if we make it a relation to the popularity of a band we should do it in reverse order because everyone knows that indie bands are better anyway... so something like...
100: Superbowl halftime show
250: Signed to major label
500: Signed to indie label
1000: Recording from basement w/ barely working 4 track.

Except it's suggesting someone is getting more and more obscure the more posts they have...it's counter-intuitive;)

good suggestions so far... I particularly like Charicature's theme. I've tweaked it a little bit and think it would be better if we ditched the current silver/gold/platinum/diamond scheme so that it flows better.

So, how about this for the full list of ranks (or some better names along these lines if anyone wants to suggest any):

5 posts: Air Guitarist
10 posts: Garage Band
25 posts: Club Band
50 posts: Touring Artist
100 posts: Semi-Famous
250 posts: Stadium Filler
500 posts: International Superstar

I just shifted them a bit and got rid of the 1000 post rank since nobody has this many at the moment and even if you did eventually get there, I think we should cap the ranks at 500 to be fair to people that want a life Wink
