WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I'll return after I get some sleep so I can give this album the praise it deserves (which is a lot).

This album is in the top 100, and I support that.

I have tried this album multiple times. I simply do not understand it. I find it painfully boring, and at times, unbearably annoying. And it's not the style itself, I love the Pixies. This album just feels like everything I have ever heard before. 1.5/10 IMO.

This album is ok, but nowhere near as good as the bands that influenced it. I think Nevermind's historical importance is far greater then the actually quality of the album.

It really is not possible to overstate the impact this album had at the time it was released!

Nevermind is the album that changed it all (and i don't just mean that in a positive way!)

I love and hate this album in varying ratios....

Yeah. It's certainly good, even very good, but I basically agree with this statement overall. It shouldn't be in the top 10 ever.

Very good album, one of the best of the '90s, but on the other hand, it's not THAT good either.

Not overrated

Here's the thing: This album is important for combining the slow, sludgy riffs of Black Sabbath with the attitude of Black Flag. Flipper did this with their debut a decade earlier, but with this, everyone got a piece of amazing real-grunge pie Very Happy

Yeah, this album is way overrated. And way too soft.

The thing is, from a compositional standpoint, they have nothing to do with each other! (Other than the whole "loud-soft-loud" thing, which really was derivative in and of itself)

Nevermind is a sludgey hardcore punk record, simultaneously mathy and riff-fueled. A great 9.5-calibur record that changed music forever.

Doolittle is a very good college rock (NOT GRUNGE!!!) record that was a bit too poppy for me. As for influence, REM did everything it did better on Murmur, while Flipper (and later NIN) were much better representatives for the coming alternative onslaught. About a 7.5 out of 10.

...But yeah, other than this album, Bleach is their next best, because it's also really sludgy.
