EDIT: As of 05/19/2012, Kid A has passed London Calling.

When I first came to this site about 9 or 10 months ago (I think), London Calling was ranked #8 by a pretty sizable margin. Now it's down to #9, and the #10 album (Kid A) is within 200 points (so potentially 2 or 3 charts) of it.

I find this especially interesting because it's been ages since Kid A moved. Who thinks it'll take over the #9 position soon?

The Psychedelic Sounds of The 13th Floor Elevators.

Edit: Damn it, I thought the question was which album would take the #9th spot in the future.

hope not, but looks quite likely. (Personally, I don't like Kid A very much, but I know others love it.)

Yeah, it's good, but I personally consider London Calling far superior. Then again, I discovered and fell in love with London Calling much earlier than Kid A.

I hope not, it's better than every other album in the top 10 by quite a large margin.

I don't see it decreasing much more. We've had a couple of great albums last year, but I doubt anything will top the top tens from here on out. As for Kid A taking over the 9th position? I find it possible; although I don't think it'll move much farther down. In my opinion "London Calling" is far more superior than "Kid A".

It wouldn't bother me so much, their self titled debut is infinitely superior.

Still better than Kid A though...

London Calling should be #500 or something.
i'm glad it gonna leave the top 10, first behind the far superior Kid A very soon, and then 11# behind the perfect Funeral in quite a while Cool

Numbers! Here's the movement in rank points in top 9-20

Rank Score Since 1/1/2012
Pet Sounds +4193
Funeral +3954
Wish You Were Here +3780
Kid A +3430
The Bends +3386
Doolittle +3308
London Calling +3132
Highway 61 Revisited +3101
In Rainbows +3046
Velvet Underground & Nico +2868
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea +2762
Rubber Soul +2044

Rank Score Since 5/2/2011
Funeral +13567
Kid A +13336
Pet Sounds +12239
Wish You Were Here +11751
Doolittle +11354
The Bends +11284
London Calling +11081
In Rainbows +10740
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea +10008
Velvet Underground & Nico +9911
Highway 61 Revisited +9418
Rubber Soul +8405

London Calling Advantage (43610)
Kid A -198
Funeral -2019
Pet Sounds -2319
Wish You Were Here -9011

So it looks like the lowest that London Calling will fall is #13, but it will be a few years before Pink Floyd gets #12.

Actually according to these numbers you should be way more worried about Rubber Soul falling out of the Top 25 eventually.
