Post subject: regarding the Grammys and Billboard charts...
I was thinking it would be nice to use the Grammy awards as a yearly chart which could be incorporated into the data here. It is probably the most prestigious of all lists since it involves the most people in the music industry as is watched by hundreds of millions as to the outcome.
I know the awards aren't lists per se, but I was thinking you could add just the album categories like Best Album or Record Of The Year by putting the winners in the #1 slot and the other nominees as ties for the #2 slot.
As for the Billboard charts, you could use their year-end summaries for sales and radio airplay which definitely are numbered.
Just two crazy thoughts that are probably not practical, but if they can be done right you would be incorporating some very important data.
End of year lists are not likely to get on this site because the theme of the site doesn't quite match with that concept. There's a great site called acclaimedmusic.net which picks up a lot of those lists and we don't want to turn into a clone of anyone else. That being said, we could find somewhere on this site to post any of these lists that don't qualify for the overall list. I'm not sure what form that would take, it needs a bit of thinking about as to where that would fit.
