- Post subject: New track by me...
|
Hi guys... I'm in an band called Dub Voiture and we have just released an album called The Death of a Hipster on a very small british indie label.
I have just started on writing some of the tracks for our next album wich will be a Hip-Hop album called The Death of a Rapper High on Auto-Tune... It would be great if you guys could give me some feedback on one of the tracks... It's mainly made with samples from artists like Marvin Gaye, Captain Beefheart and The Gerogerigegege.

Interesting beat.. you never hear drums like that in hip hop! I like them, although they are a very abrasive sonically and distort quite easily when turned up. I don't know what you're using to make it, but perhaps turn down any gain a bit, little less reverb on the kick and eq to take that low end harshness out.
The whistling type sample is cool and works really well. It would be interesting to see if you could switch it up though. I notice how commercial hip hop beats have become quite stale these last few years, not very much in the way of a-part, b-part, just the same beat building itself up and then down again. I think if you added a b-section after a 16 bar verse, held it for an 8 bar chorus, then brought the whistling beat back in it would work really well.
Good luck and let me know when you got some lyrics for it! _________________ no fat chicks
