Quite a few changes this month (and a lot more background changes which will make next month's update quite special!)

This month's changes:

  • We've fixed a problem where some people were having to try multiple times to submit comments on the album, band or chart pages (reported by caralladas76 and bc1991).
  • The look of the site has changed a little this month; we’ve now added more statistics onto the flanks of each page. People landing on this site from the search engines were finding a lot of the more interesting content hidden away, so hopefully it’s now more obvious regarding the depth of information that is contained on this site and where things are located.
  • You can now assign votes to the member comments across the site by giving a thumbs-up/down. Through peer moderation, better comments will become more visible and poorer comments will be buried. We're hoping this might lead to even better quality comments across the site. You can set a filter at a certain threshold to ignore comments with a score below this value (by default this value is minus two, but you can manage your individual preferences from your ‘Profile’ page.)
  • On the ‘customise chart’ page, you can now choose whether to generate an overall chart containing albums that only appear in the member charts (and not in the recognized lists.) Thanks to ChromeAce for this suggestion. ChromeAce was right, there’s some interesting picks here that the critics have missed…
  • The top-rated tracks on each album are now highlighted and denoted with a ‘track pick’ symbol (to become a track-pick, a track must have at least two member-ratings and an average score of 90 percent or more, but we will refine this algorithm as we go along….)
  • We’ve changed the format of the how it works page to read more like a FAQ. This means that new visitors can skim-read and dip into the bits that interest them, rather than having to scan through the whole text.

Thanks to all for the great suggestions and more changes next month… yes, this will include bigger charts!
