I remember discovering this album through BEA. That intriguing cover art.

Thank you.

This is true, also I'd but Drop Nineteens ahead of Ride in the 'shoegaze' running order.

I'm not too keen on the slower numbers - particularly "Paralysed". "Vapour Trail" and "Decay" are epic tracks.

Sorry, don't agree with the Slowdive comment. From their first few EPs until Going Blank Again, Ride were in a league of their own. Slowdive couldn't gaze down at Ride's shoes for all the fringes in the Thames Valley. Then Ride married Swedish wives, went Britpop and turned into tossers. Shame, they were ace once upon a time.

Yeah, when both those bands were happening. Ride was definitely better than Slowdive. Been rediscovering them lately. Nowhere isn't a bad record at all, nor is the follow-up. I know both Ride and MBV are considered shoegaze but Ride's approach to the genre was very different... I'd almost call it more rocking, in a way. I mean play, the opening track from Nowhere and tell me it doesn't rock.

Incredible album that I would hold pretty close to Loveless. The final track is one of the best tracks ever written but the rest are no slouchers either.
