I love "I Was A Lover", but I've never been able to get through the whole album.

holy shit holy shit.
Tv on the Radio are best.
Desperate Youth holds up better from being played hundreds of times, but this is still one of the best albums of the last 10 years. One of the rare cases where hiding pop songwriting under "arty" production really really works.
I love the distortion sound. Instead of being all lofi, its a slick, kind of digital sounding wall of distortion.
Playhouses, Province, Wash the Day, Tonight, I was a Lover and Blues from down Here are all better than Wolf like Me btw.

I've heard it before. Seemed kinda normal to me. At least the indie-scene kinda normal. A bit textured, a bit distorted or lo-fi, not terribly complex nor is it minimal, and it especially does not immerse me in any sort of environment nor is it mood-altering in any way that I'm noticing. It's just kinda... there, but at the same time, it makes terrible background music because I get more and more annoyed with it the longer it is playing. Another album where the best listen is the first. Just IMO and my personal experience. Overall: "meh".

I downloaded this after seeing some praise over here. The first few listens were average, nothing special, so I stopped playing it for awhile.
About a couple of month ago, though, it played on my random albums playlist, and it hooked me from the first track. It's a grower for me, it's on my chart now.
