Who do you think or like better the Rolling Stones or the Who? Also whose influence was bigger in music in your opinion.

They are both good and both influential, but I would place The Rolling Stones slightly above The Who on both accounts.

don't know whose influence was greater, but I much prefer the Rolling Stones. Exile on Main St, Sticky Fingers, Beggar's Banquet...I love those more than any Who album I've heard.

Both are great. Both are influential, but personally the Who's "power pop" is more my taste. The Stones had consistently better albums (although not nearly as ambitious as The Who), but I think The Who had better songs.

Example: My Generation vs. Satisfaction--close, but I'll take My Generation.

Really great match-up. I don't know which one I'd choose. Although, Keith Moon gives the Who a slight edge in my book. He was a drumming maniac.

Both are in very high regard for me, although I would have to choose the Stones - just.

I'd go with the who-they're just crazier, and I have more fun listening to them.

That is an excellent question to ask. Without a doubt, they are both legendary bands with attributes that are unparalleled compared to other bands. The Who I think were more creative than the Rolling Stones by the way they orchestrated rock operas. The Rolling Stones were the best at playing rock music you could dance to. Their incorporation of blues and country to their rock really added their character, one that distinguished them from the rest of the British Invasion bands. As the 80's took off, they were still around, writing awesome records too, and that's nothing to look down upon. It's close, but I would have to go with the Rolling Stones- they took Open G.
