Slightly-overrated film, REALLY overrated soundtrack.

But they're both freaking amazing.

The movie would he absolutely perfect if it wasn't for the Fincherisms, though. They ruin it.

You should watch the movie.

@Applerill, what are supposed to be Fincherisms (both in general and here)?

Fincherism (noun): Overused techniques popularized by Fight Club douchebag David Fincher, such as hyperactive scene transitions, overly murky digital colors, and depressingly sadistic subject matter.

A lot of people like David Fincher, but I can't stand anything resembling him.

But even there, that doesn't take away that Amelie is 10/10 movie in everything else.

I'm not sure it would be the same without them actually.
Usually I find them really annoying, even Fight Club nearly crossed the line, but in Amelie it worked perfectly.

Haven't the soundtrack, but it's one of my Dad's favourite composers and often plays his stuff on the piano.

I'm not sure how "murky colours" and "depressingly sadistic subject matter"* describe Amélie... But hey, considering I love a lot of Fincher's work, it might be the case that some of "his" elements made me enjoy this movie even more.

*edited this part, I misread it at first. Either way I still don't see it in Amélie

Weird, saw the movie a week ago. It was okay weird, didn't understand much of the story. Confused Maybe I was too tired or something, but I always enjoy the french language... okay, this post had nothing to do with the actual album!
