I thought you would pick Hallelujah.
Also, I am pretty indifferent to this album.

I've listened to this twice now.
I think the Hallelujah cover is easily the best track. I also really like Mojo Pin and So Real. Anyway, pretty good album but still too high on the overall charts, IMO. But then again... there are albums higher on the charts that I think should be much lower than this album. _________________

The songs on this album fall into two categories: flawless masterpieces and tracks that have good melodies but have other weaknesses. They are divided as such:
Flawless masterpieces:
Grace
Last Goodbye
Hallelujah
Lover You Should've Come Over
Corpus Christi Carol
Dream Brother
Tracks that have good melodies that suffer from being too long or repetitive:
Mojo Pin (too repetitive)
Lilac Wine (too slow)
So Real (amazing verse, dull chorus)
Eternal Life (eh, just kind of uninteresting)
Dream Brother is the best track, closely followed by Hallelujah and Grace. Really an outstanding album, especially for a solo effort.

The first AotD that I don't like from the super new row that started a few days ago. For some reason, I never managed to get into this... It just bores me to death. His voice sounds like a dying little pig being crashed under big truck wheels to my ears. I hate it.

Funny, I just listened to it for the first time a few days ago! I found it a very enjoyable album, the guy really had an amazing voice (key tracks for this aspect would be Mojo Pin and So Real) and was a really good guitar player as well (although not many highlight this). The lyrics are very inspired and sincere and the way the themes of lost love, memories and sadness are accompanied by fitting changes of moods and styles from track to track (or even between sections of each song) makes this an even more powerful work. However there were some issues holding me back from calling it a masterrpiece: I think the production is somewhat dated and OTT at parts (especially during the second half of the title track), while sometimes it sounds too gentle (Corpus Christi Carol) or too raw (Eternal Life doesn't fit to the whole tone of the album very well, while definitely not a bad song), when the best moments in here usually balance those two elements (Mojo Pin, The Last Goodbye, So Real, Dream Brother). Also, the cover of Hallelujah is just a little bit overrated, but pretty amazing nonetheless. A totally great listen, just not flawless IMO.

Stay away from the Legacy Edition. The DVD is cool, but the second music disc is just not good. He destroys some pretty decent songs by Bob Dylan, Hank Williams & Bukka White (none of which he probably would have ever wanted released), but the worst is a 14 minute desecration of Big Star's "Kanga-Roo", which may be one of the most excruciating recordings ever made. _________________ May we all get to heaven

YES. Just yes. I don't even have a proper way of describing how good this album is.
