Idiot by Hayden Who

And it's out Smile

Presenting my latest full-length album, Idiot.

I'm hoping BEA enjoys this one... it's probably (at least in my opinion) my most focused work under Hayden Who. August through September I found a completely different set of inspirations for making music, and I think I came fairly close to hitting what I wanted to achieve. I actually trimmed several tracks (5 or 6 ish...) from the sessions, which doesn't usually happen Laughing Hoping the 13 tracks I picked are cream of the crop.

What started as an EP later turned into a reinvention, sparking a long-time passion project. Musically inspired by the likes of Holly Herndon, Caretaker, Jlin, Arca, and Nicolas Jaar, yet reaching all the way to David Lynch and Dostoyevsky (who, it is essentially named after), I have a lot of talented people to thank. Idiot is an album I've wanted to make for some time now yet I never figured I'd have the abilities to do so. This album wasn't made with the same mindset of MANNER, and I've completely flipped as an artist since then, but it's the only other album I've made that I went into with a solid plan.

This is an album about growing up, no matter the age.

It's a dark album, I get that, and it's perhaps not entirely accessible, but I hope it proves personal, and I hope it's an experience.

You can stream it or download it for free here. Hope you guys like it.

Thanks Craola, appreciated the support and back-and-forth Smile

It's changed a smidge since you heard it... perhaps a smidge more than I thought it would Anxious (cut Harriet and Nausea, which were the first two tracks I wrote for this, so that hurt a little). Also mixed a good amount of the high-end differently and added some different textures and drums... think I fixed the murkiness with some of the lower end as well. Hoping you dig the final result Smile

Awesome, glad you enjoyed it Smile Feedback within the first couple of hours has been universally positive, I'm flattered.

And course, go ahead. I've always loved making hip-hop instrumentals... I've taken a break from it as of late (mind you, Beyond Lorca was originally crafted with a Kendrick acappella overtop to help the pacing, so it's somewhat hip-hop ish), but I find it some of the most 'fun' music to make. Definitely something that I feel people need a teacher for, even more so than music production itself... also helps you appreciate the genre all so much more. Hoping you share eventually.

after many a slip-up, hang-up and anti-climatic build-up, i have a release date set for the next great creighola record, uyulala.

it's going to be a very different record than the previous release, Wither W/O Her, but i think y'all'll dig it just as much (if not more) than that record. this one gets pretty weird....

note: i had planned an extravagant stop-motion short to accompany the release, but time being what it is and not having much of it the past 18 months, i've decided to forgo that video 'til a later time (and likely another project). if you were holding out hope for that video, please hold out hope. i need all the hope i can muster.
